Since 1959 Léopold Reimonenq runs the distillery (in second generation). With his self-invented steel column still he produces a wide variety of rum-styles. This is an example of his light style. First this rum matured in a bourbon cask in Guadeloupe and for the last two years it was ageing further in another bourbon cask (which previously contained our Fiji rum) in our cellar in Zürich.
Nose: Fresh and fruity, peaches, pineapples,
fresh vanilla beans, caramelised nuts.
Taste: Ripe fruits - pineapples and peaches again, vanilla sugar, mango cream and some fresh walnuts.
Tingly finish: Grapefruit zests, dried peaches and some vanilla again

Caroni Distillers Ltd. was the rum division of the state agricultural enterprise Caroni Ltd., that focused on sugar. Founded in 1937 and taken over completely by the state of Trinidad in 1975 the company always remained deficient and was finally closed in 2003. Caroni produced extremely heavy-body rums in a huge column still, they were an important component in British “navy rum”.
Nose: Old wine cellar, crayons, a humidor full of cigars, pears, bandages and salve. Taste: very oily but silky, tobacco, milk chocolate, pears, wood spices, little machine oil, maple syrup Finish: spicy (cinnamon), some tobacco again, rubber, and some medicinal hints again.

This Rum was distilled in 2005 in an unnamed distillery. It is pure “pot still” rum in the old, classic Jamaican style - a “blend” of “wedderburn” and “plummer”. Therefore this rum is lighter than our previous Jamaican bottlings, but very fruity and with a lot of spicyness.
Nose: Warm winter spices (cinnamon), typical bourbon cask with coconut, vanilla and bananas (fresh and dried) The taste delivers what has been promised: Warm and spicy (cinnamon, vanilla, clove...), ripe bananas, very dry, some almonds, hints of apples. Long and dry finish: Full of the same spices again, some dried fruits.

Nose: Some Machine oil, nut mix, citrus zests, vanilla, dried bananas, smoked almonds.
Taste: Oily and sweet, brown sugar, fire roasted chestnuts, peaches and apricots. Sweet and tingly finish: nuts, hints of smokey chestnuts again, apricots (dried and fresh).
